After the end of ‘Loki’, the new product that will come from Marvel to Disney + will be the animated series ‘What if …?’ (‘What If?’ In its original title), which opens on August 11 and will show us what would happen if the most important moments of the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe happened differently as observed by Uatu the Watcher.
Many critics have already been able to enjoy the first episodes of the series and have revealed their first impressions of it on twitter and that, in general terms, they are quite hopeful. Many rate the series as “fun and exciting”, “strange”, “wild” and there are even those who allude to the series “It has the potential to become the best of Marvel for Disney Plus”.
Here are some of the reactions to the series:
Saw first 3 episodes of #whatif . Loved the comic so I’m obviously primed to enjoy the series and it delivers. 2nd episode is T’Challa as Star-Lord and it’s a great episode that features @chadwickboseman‘s voice and cool surprises. 3rd episode is a better mystery than some movies pic.twitter.com/l0SX2xEY86

“I’ve seen the first three episodes of #WhatIf. I loved the comic so obviously I was ready to enjoy the series and it delivers on its promise. The second episode features T’Challa as Star-Lord and is a great episode that includes the voice of Chadwick Boseman and some great surprises. The third episode presents a mystery story superior to some movies “.
After 3 episodes, Marvel’s What If…? has potential to be their best D+ show yet. Yes, it’s funny and exciting but the way each twist snowballs in hugely surprising ways kept me guessing and engaged too. Ep 2 in particular (with T’Challa) is one of my fave Marvel things in years. pic.twitter.com/KC66EnIQty

“After three episodes, ‘What if …?’ It has the potential to be the best Marvel series for Disney Plus. Yes, it is fun and exciting, but the way each twist transforms the story in surprising ways had me asking questions and kept me hooked as well. Episode 2, especially (with T’Challa) is one of my favorite Marvel things in years. “.
I’ve watched the first three episodes of Marvel’s #WhatIf and I’m hooked. Each episode is better than the last w/ the third being my favorite. Love how they take a story we know by heart & twist it in all kinds of ways. It’s like the MCU’s Twilight Zone – weird, wild, good fun pic.twitter.com/PQ9deD1Yyl

“I’ve watched the first three episodes of the Marvel #WhatIf series and I’m hooked. Each episode is better than the last and the third is my favorite. I love how they take a story that we all know by heart and twist it in all its possible ways. It’s like ‘The Twilight Zone’ of the MCU: strange, wild and good fun “.
I’ve seen the first three episodes of #WhatIf and cannot say enough good things about this show. @MarvelStudios definitely hasn’t disappointed with its first foray into animation (it looks amazing), and the premise works brilliantly…you WILL love #CaptainCarter. @whatifofficial pic.twitter.com/TNI39bZicx

“I’ve watched the first three episodes of #WhatIf and I don’t have enough good words to describe this series. Marvel Studios certainly hasn’t disappointed with their first foray into animation (it looks amazing) and the premise works brilliantly … you’re going to love #CapitanaCarter. “
#WhatIf is a colorful and fun new twist on your favorite MCU stories. The animation makes everything sighing the frame feel like a comic book in motion. And @jfreewright is the perfect storyteller to guide fans on a journey of what if’s & hypotheticals. pic.twitter.com/LHbat3NQ9W

“‘What would happen if…?’ is a fun and colorful new twist on your favorite MCU stories. Animation makes everything we see in the frame look like moving comic strips. And Jefrey Wright is the perfect storyteller who guides fans on a journey full of hypotheticals. “
Expect the unexpected has never been more true in Marvel’s #WhatIf! It’s a crazy, trippy ride and while it’s not my favorite series, it’s good to hear some familiar voices of characters I love! I respect the twists and turns in the multiverse, even if I don’t like some of them. pic.twitter.com/BX2zgpDpCG

“Expecting the unexpected has never been so real as in the Marvel series What if …?! It’s a crazy, freaking ride and while it’s not my favorite show, it’s great to hear some familiar voices from the characters I adore! I respect twists and turns in the multiverse, even not liking many of them. “
The series consists of reimagining different stories and scenarios different from those we already know in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will feature many of the original voices of the actors from the films, including that of the sadly late Chadwick Boseman. The actor recorded the voice of T’Challa / Black Panther for this series before he died.
More details of the series
The series is led by the voice of actor Jeffrey Wright, who acts as a point of union between the different episodes that this animated series has. Wright plays a character who receives the name of The Watcher, a mysterious being who is a witness to all the events that are reflected in the series and guides the viewer in that multiverse of infinite possibilities.
In the first episodes, among other things, we will see what would have happened if Peggy Carter had taken the serum from the super soldier instead of Steve Rogers or what would happen if T’Challa (Black Panther) became Star-Lord, leader of the Guardians of the Galaxy, instead of Peter Quill, episode that these first critics have highlighted especially.
To see how these events happen we will have to wait until August 11, the day the series premieres on Disney +.
