The series is very much alive

The end of The Walking Dead is coming.

Like the immortality of the zombies from his apocalyptic plot, the universe of The Walking Dead knew how to maintain and expand throughout 11 seasons and more than a decade.

Now, its cast is preparing to say goodbye, in 2022, with the arrival of its eleventh and final installment.

“It is a very big story and it will take many turns, as we have seen it. We reinvent ourselves every eight episodes, and it will be three sets of each, 24 in total, where we will put the characters and the audience to the test and give them an epic and extensive farewell, “said Scott M. Gimple, writer and producer of the series.

“I watched the first six episodes and I love our cast so much, each one of the people on this panel. Each one brought their best, and I am so excited that they can see what all these wonderful actors brought to these characters, to those who love, because in the end this show is about them, although the zombies and the action have been fun, “added writer Angela Kang, during the franchise panel, in the 2021 edition of Comic-Con San Diego.

In the first of three cuts in which the final season will be divided, which will premiere on August 22 by AMC, characters such as Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) will be taken to the limit, and the tension between the last two, the central axis of the whole outcome, as Negan murdered Glenn, Maggie’s partner, in the seventh stage.

“At this point, Negan is trying his best to fit in with this group of people, and it was going great until Maggie came back, and now it’s a new game for him, one that he’s trying to figure out, but I think there is too much tension between the two, so we’ll see what happens, “Morgan said excitedly.

“That will be the entire season, what we are going to figure out this year. There is a feeling that has stuck and we will probably spend time on it, and it’s crazy. Honestly, it’s been the most fun I’ve had on the show in terms of sailing and crossing this ocean between what you want to do and what you have to do, “explained an enthusiastic Cohan.

As for The Walking Dead: World Beyond, whose second and final season will premiere on October 3, fans will not be able to enjoy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the plot again.
