“The recovery numbers are good. We await a corridor with Italy”

The Seychelles are making great strides towards a full recovery of the country’s tourism industry: the central office of the tourism board works on product diversification with new proposals, such as experiences in direct contact with the local population, bicycle and mountain bike itineraries. The role of sustainability is always central, which sees the creation of additional protected areas especially marine.

And it is precisely the numbers that certify a positive trend in flows: this first part of 2021 shows more than encouraging results, pending the opening of tourist corridors with Italy to bring our country among the first in terms of number of visitors. From the beginning of the year to September 19, the Seychelles registered as a whole 100,000 visitors. Almost all of the population has been vaccinated and there are protocols to be respected that allow you to spend a holiday in total freedom, moving freely between the various islands.

“Tourism has resumed with extremely significant numbers from other markets, but not from Italy as the Seychelles are still in ‘group E’. Hotel, guest house and self catering, almost all of the structures are open and fully operational – he comments Danielle Di Gianvito, marketing representative of Seychelles Tourism in Italy (in the photo) -. We await the good news of the opening of the tourist corridors. Meantime we collaborate with carriers, to, travel agencies and all the partners in the supply chain who are our first interlocutor for the promotion of the destination in the Italian market. For this reason, we are planning several activities with the trade for the end of 2021, including the new online training course. We are already working on some projects for 2022 and the creation of a new product is also being studied ”. The organization will participate in the next edition of the Ttg Travel Experience (hall C1 – stand 171-174).
