The DASH diet – a healthy body and a slim figure – Anna Lewandowska

Do you know that an average Pole consumes as much as 13.7 grams of salt a day? This is almost three times more than the recommendations of the World Health Organization. Overuse of salt increases the risk of many chronic diseases, including high blood pressure. Therefore, the first step towards shaping healthy eating habits should be limiting it in our meals through conscious choice of the products we eat. SuperMenu 🙂 dietary catering can be helpful in this

I often get messages from you that you have a problem with controlling what and how much you eat. In many cases, it is a result of the inability to calculate caloric requirements, easy access to highly processed food, and unread labels. However, obesity, which is one of the diseases of civilization, is not an exclusive problem of Poles. It is also the excessive consumption of salt, which causes hypertension, which promotes the development of, among others, heart failure. Despite the fact that The World Health Organization recommends a maximum of 5 grams of salt per day (the equivalent of one teaspoon), and the physiological requirement of an adult’s body is from 2 to 3 grams per day, we are used to adding it to virtually every dish.

I have a perfect solution for you – the DASH diet! It is not only healthy, but also easy to use – it does not require us to comply with numerous food restrictions. It is a balanced model of nutrition that helps to introduce the products needed for the proper functioning of the circulatory system. I wrote about the DASH diet earlier HERE. Below you will find a bit more information about it.

A diet without sacrifices

Are you wondering what does “DASH” actually mean? It is short for English words „dietary approaches to stop hypertension”, meaning “nutritional plan to protect against hypertension”. The rules of composing meals are similar to those of the Mediterranean diet. Moreover, it is very easy to follow. You do not have to give up your favorite dishes, but only slightly modify them.

If you want to support the body in the fight against hypertension and other civilization diseases, it is worth putting on the DASH diet. Its main principle is to use less salt, and the nutrition plan is based on low-processed foods, as well as vegetables and fruits, which are a source of vitamins, minerals, flavonoids and plant-based protein, including nuts and seeds. It is also fish containing valuable omega-3 fatty acids and products rich in potassium, magnesium and calcium – low-fat dairy products.

It is also worth remembering that the use of the DASH diet reduces blood pressure, reduces the risk of developing heart disease and has a positive effect on the lipid profile. It also reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes and colon cancer. It reduces the possibility of depression, improves cognitive functions, and most importantly, helps to extend life expectancy.

Two in one: body and figure support

Do you know that DASH is recognized by numerous scientists as the healthiest diet in the world? It is also referred to as therapeutic, because it helps not only to protect the body against civilization diseases, but also allows you to maintain good condition and proper body weight. According to the report “The growing importance of health and the eating habits of Poles. SuperMenu 2021 ”for 41% of Poles, healthy eating independently can be difficult. For those who do not have enough time, and do not have specialist knowledge to implement it, a great facilitation may be the use of my SuperMenu dietary catering.

In the variant of the DASH diet, we gave up adding salt to meals, and we also limited the amount of red meat. In addition, the dishes do not contain sugar, wheat and raw cow’s milk. Thanks to this, our nutritional plan not only supports the circulatory system, but also contributes to the improvement of the condition and appearance of the figure.
