Hot Toys announces a series of updates are being made to its 1/6th scale Spider-Man (Black & Gold Suit) collectible figure.
Hot Toys recently announced a series of updates will be made to its 1/6th scale Spider-Man (Black & Gold Suit) collectible figure, just a few months after announcing the figurine.
A statement posted on the Hot Toys website reads, “Revealed earlier in Hot Toys Summer Showcase, the 1/6th scale Spider-Man (Black & Gold Suit) collectible figure from Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home collection series will be receiving updates on both costume details and accessories to emphasize its stylistic features.”
The Black & Gold Suit figure was first announced as the latest edition to the Spider-Man: No Way Home collection series back in July. At that time, it was revealed that the collectible would depict Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in a black-and-gold Spidey suit, along with magical gold wrist guards. The figure was also shown to include red hands and a blue web emblem on his chest, reminiscent of elements featured on the costume worn by Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange.
As seen in the updated photos on the Hot Toys website, the 1/6th scale Spider-Man (Black & Gold Suit) collectible figure no longer features the red hands or blue web emblem on the chest plate. The new figurine also features more detailed versions of the gold wrist guards.
Peter Parker first donned the black-and-gold suit in Marvel Comics’ Amazing Spider-Man #656 by Slott, Marcos Martin, Muntsa Vicente and Caramagna. In the issue, Spider-Man donned the Armor MK II suit in hopes of defeating Massacre. It was revealed that the black-and-gold suit would make an appearance in the upcoming No Way Home when Hasbro, Funko and LEGO announced a series of releases inspired by the film in early July.
Meanwhile, Holland made his debut in the black-and-gold suit in the first teaser trailer for No Way Home, which debuted in August. Specifically, the clip showed the black-suited Spider-Man shielding himself against a blast of yellow lightning, which fans expect to be coming from Jamie Foxx’s Electro. Beside the Amazing Spider-Man 2 supervillain, fans also expect Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin to appear in the film, along with Alfred Molina’s confirmed return as Doc Ock.
Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home is set to swing into theaters on Dec. 17.
