After having experienced a return to almost normal levels in April, the Shanghai textile and clothing fairs will hold their next edition from August 25 to 27. Early dates due to the unavailability of the National Exhibition and Convention Center on the usual dates.
The meeting of threads and materials Intertextile intends for this edition to capitalize on the success of the March session, which attracted 80,553 buyers who came to meet 2,600 exhibitors from 17 countries. Faced with the persistence of travel difficulties for foreign exhibitors and buyers, the organizers are renewing the Hybrid Exhibition Package, which notably offers physical stands equipped with displays and video devices for exhibitors, with which visitors can in particular come into contact. via a QR code system referring to a dedicated sourcing platform.
The fashion and clothing event, Chic, which attracted 88,103 visitors in April, will feature in this new edition some 675 exhibitors representing 718 brands over an area of 62,000 square meters. Aimed at Chinese brands looking for local and international distributors, the show is usually also an opportunity for foreign brands to support their Chinese and Asian development. A foreign presence again somewhat undermined since the start of the health crisis by travel restrictions between countries.
The various organizers will then turn to Shenzhen, where they will once again hold their exhibitions concurrently from November 3 to 5. A secondary meeting of Intertextile, Chic, PH Value and Yarn Expo which aims in particular to attract companies and professionals from the southern provinces of China, particularly active in textiles. The project first materialized last July, after the cancellation of the Shanghai session in March 2020.
In the meantime, this August session will take place at a time when the major Western textile-clothing fairs are still in a revival phase. After a compact session at the end of June, Première Vision Paris will offer its classic edition from September 21 to 23, for the first time since February 2020. In Italy, the Florentine salons Uomo, Filati and Bimbo met at the beginning of July, followed on 6 and July 7 by Milano Unica. After the creation of showrooms, Texworld Evolution Paris will make its comeback in early 2022.
