Madrid, Jul 23 (EFE) .- The Italian firm Schiaparelli has decided to market for solidarity purposes the brooch worn by the singer Lady Gaga during the inauguration of Joe Biden as US president, Schiaparelli Dove, a gold dove that called a lot attention.

Proceeds from the sale, reproductions in three different sizes of the iconic brooch worn by Lady Gaga on January 20, 2021, will be donated to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, a charity she co-founded with her mother Cynthia Germanotta.

The foundation was born with the aim of supporting the mental health of young people and working with them to build a “kinder and more courageous” world, as confirmed by the firm in a note.

On that occasion, Lady Gaga wore a Maison Schiaparelli design with which she interpreted the American national anthem, a Daniel Roseberry outfit consisting of a fitted navy blue cashmere jacket and a red silk skirt.

On her jacket, Lady Gaga wore a delicate gold Schiaparelli brooch in the shape of a dove bearing an olive branch, a symbol of peace and hope.

“My daughter and I, along with the young people we work with every day, believe that kindness is the way forward from the continuous and overlapping crises of the last year and a half,” said Cynthia Germanotta, Co-Founder and President of Born. This Way Foundation.

Germanotta is grateful that Schiaparelli Dove has become a “symbol of hope and new beginnings, the benefits of which will go towards enhancing our work and our mission to build a kinder and more courageous world.”

He assures that with the support of Schiaparelli, they will continue with their aspiration to build a support that addresses the mental health of young people and “connects them with the resources they need not only to survive, but to thrive.”

Daniel Roseberry, creative director of Schiaparelli, has pointed out that Lady Gaga and her foundation have inspired him for years.

“His performance at the inauguration and the symbolic Dove brooch is a milestone in the history of this House and in my life. It is a great pride to be able to contribute to the foundation and to the remarkable work it has done in the lives of young people around the world, leading them towards greater freedom, goodness and love ”.

“The Dove” has a long history at Schiaparelli. Influenced by the artists of the Dada and Cubist movements, Elsa Schiaparelli used the surrealism of the masters of her time in her designs.

She was the owner of Picasso’s “Oiseaux en cage,” (Caged Birds), an oil on canvas painting from 1937, showing a dove and a crow in a cage. “His friends saw in the dove and the black raven a symbol of his double personality,” concludes the note.
