Steve Rogers’ final MCU appearance – specifically when he’s an old man in Avengers: Endgame – is immortalized in his own Funko Pop! figure.
The elderly Steve Rogers from Avengers: Endgame receives his very own Funko Pop figure. Though the MCU has since moved into a brand new phase with movies like Black Widow and Shang-Chi, Avengers: Endgame remains a heavily-discussed installment in the franchise. Released in April 2019, Avengers: Endgame brought the Infinity Saga to a close in epic fashion by uniting virtually every hero who had appeared in the franchise up to that point. It was briefly the highest-grossing movie of all time before Avatar‘s re-released pushed it back into the top spot, though Endgame still holds the record for the biggest opening weekend ever.
Avengers: Endgame served as the finale for original heroes Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). While Tony sadly dies in the final battle, Steve lives and travels back in time to forge a peaceful life with Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). He returns to the present day for the final moments of Avengers: Endgame, now an old man who has enjoyed a full life. Steve passes on his Captain America shield to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie), thus paving the way for his legacy to continue on into Phase 4.
Old Man Steve has now been immortalized in a way that all Marvel characters are these days: As a Funko Pop. During Original Funko’s latest unboxing livestream, the first ever Old Man Steve Pop figure was unveiled. The Amazon exclusive depicts Steve sitting on the bench from the end of Avengers: Endgame, Captain America shield still in hand. It’s a cute image, and it even looks like the figure has Steve’s wedding ring.
Steve’s Avengers: Endgame conclusion has proven to be a bit controversial with fans. While there are some who enjoyed his reunion with Peggy, there are others who feel Steve’s decision to return to the past betrays the character he has become. There were reports earlier this year that Evans will be returning to the MCU in a new project, which could perhaps alter his ending. However, Evans himself has denied these reports, and no further updates have emerged.
Nevertheless, Marvel fans who enjoy collecting every bit of merchandise they can will surely want to pick up their own Old Man Steve. These days, every iteration of a Marvel character gets their own Funko Pop, so it’s not surprising the older Steve has. In fact, the only surprising thing about it might just be that it’s coming over two years after Avengers: Endgame was released. He’ll be available soon, though, so fans better keep an eye out for this latest collectible.
