Rome Fiumicino airport in the third quarter of 2021 is the most popular European airport for passengers. To make it known is Aci (Airports Council International) – the international association that independently measures, through interviews with travelers, the perceived quality in over 250 airports around the world (91 in Europe).
Fiumicino, with a score of 4.61 (compared to a maximum of 5), ranks first in the popularity of travelers, surpassing European airports of all sizes. The recognition refers to the summer quarter which was characterized by a recovery in traffic volumes, albeit far from those recorded before the pandemic, and demonstrates how the travelers of the “Leonardo da Vinci” have appreciated the efforts of Aeroporti di Roma in guaranteeing quality service even during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In detail, among the services most appreciated by passengers are the clarity of information to the public, the cleanliness of the Terminals, the courtesy of the staff, the facilities at the airport and the waiting time at security checks.
“We are particularly proud – said the CEO of Aeroporti di Roma, Marco Troncone – for this further recognition which confirms the excellence in services and comfort offered to passengers by Fiumicino airport. We are now committed to Sustainability and Innovation, which represent the cornerstones of the Group’s strategy. We have a concrete plan for the elimination of CO2 emissions by 2030, in advance of the targets set by the sector at European level, with actions mainly aimed at renewable sources and electric mobility. We will also intensify Saf’s offer at Fiumicino, the first airport in Italy to use it. Finally, we are giving a strong acceleration on digitalization and open innovation, to offer passengers a state-of-the-art airport, with even more safety and comfort ”.
