Jordan closes his Parisian store

It was one of the most significant commercial moments of 2016 in the French capital. The Nike group gave Jordan in France a new dimension, offering its burgeoning brand a flagship in Paris.

The store on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine converted into a Foot Locker – Fnw

Jordan settled on 120 square meters and two levels with a highlighting of the universe of the brand and its history linked to the essential number 23 of the Chicago Bulls. The implementation seemed all the more relevant that Jordan is also displayed on the jerseys and equipment of Paris-Saint-Germain. But the Covid-19 pandemic has reshuffled the cards and the multiple closure periods imposed on businesses in Paris have wavered Nike’s optimism for this store located at 12, rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, in the 12th arrondissement.

During the summer, the world number one in sport closed the doors of this store, as announced by the specialized media BusinessImmo. Nike did not answer our questions about this withdrawal, as the group recently opened a new Jordan store in the Dubai Mall, Dubai’s gigantic shopping center, in the United Arab Emirates.

Jordan, however, remains available in the locations. It is indeed Foot Locker, specialist in the distribution of sneakers and major commercial partner of Nike, which took over the space for the start of the September.

The brand has kept a large part of the codes referring to basketball in the store. Michael Jordan rising to dunk thus always accompanies visitors up the stairs leading upstairs. A first level which is dedicated to the feminine offer while the ground floor presents the offer devolved to men.

For the American group Foot Locker, which has a strong presence in peripheral shopping centers, this is the eighth establishment in Paris, which allows it in particular to position itself in the east of the capital.
