A summer to remember for Liguria which aims to maintain the registered presences with important investments.

A summer that represented the Restart of tourism, chasing away the ghosts of the pandemic and relaunching the economy of the sector. These data are the result of the efforts made to promote the territory, without forgetting our important vaccination campaign which made us perceive as a safe region for those coming from outside ».
IThe next step includes all-round investments, starting with ports and boating.
«Now we will invest in a sector that must grow a lot – said the president Toti -, with the new ports, our nautical sector, we will extend the season with a new communication campaign, where Liguria will be present everywhere throughout the year. 81 million viewers in two weeks saw our summer television promotion campaign on TV; a promotion, certainly not the only one, fundamental to increase the appeal of our Liguria, which has been able to excel for the beauty of the territory, for its diversification and excellence. Believe it and invest. In recent months Genoa has rediscovered itself as a city of art, the Tigullio has consecrated itself as a pole of luxury, the Ponente is proving to be an attraction for lovers of nature and the sea, our hinterland continues its path of great growth and tours food and wine, such as the grape harvest in the Cinque Terre and the pressing of the olives in Imperia, will bring an increasing number of visitors to Liguria. A tourism of quantity but also of quality, with the confidence of consumers that this summer has allowed us to make a leap forward in the ranking of the most visited and appreciated regions in Italy ».
“The presence of Italian tourists – adds the councilor for tourism Gianni Berrino -, again compared to two summers ago, they increased by almost 5.5%. During the month of August, the same foreigners began to reach our tourist destinations, reversing the initially negative trend compared to 2019. If on the one hand there was a decrease in arrivals from the Russian Federation, Great Britain and intercontinental destinations, yes on the other hand, there was a boom in arrivals and presences from Germany with an increase in August of over 56% and from Switzerland with almost 60%. Attendance from Austria, Belgium and the Netherlands is also growing. Bookings for the month of September are more than encouraging with a trend that is still positive compared to 2019, confirming a historic summer for our region ».
Foreigners, however, grew by 33% compared to 2020, in particular the Germans (numbers obtained also thanks to the processing of data from Liguria Digitale), were 92% more than last summer. Very particular the trend of the Americans who were practically not present during 2020, while they returned to Liguria already at the beginning of June, registering a + 96% in July.
