The “Humans” actress’ stunning hairstyle was inspired by Wong’s signature hair. Wong was the first Chinese-American actress who paved the way for Asian representation in the late 1920s.

In a recent interview, Chan said she had thought her work in a superhero film was over.

The late actress and style icon, who passed away in 1961, was known for her critically-acclaimed performance in the classic movie “The Good Earth.” Chan is one of the artists with Asian heritage who continue Wong’s legacy.

Apart from ensuring Asian representation in the entertainment industry, Chan is also actively involved in defending Asian-Americans who fall victim to racially motivated crimes amid the pandemic.

To help East and Southeast Asian communities, she recently launched the #StopESEAHate campaign, together with fashion designer Phillip Lim, actress Alexa Chung, and blogger Susie Lau.

Chan’s impressive activism and leadership make her qualified to take on heroic roles on the big screen. Earlier she was announced as part of Marvel’s “The Eternals” cast.

In a recent interview, Chan said she had thought her work in a superhero film was over. She previously appeared in “Captain Marvel” as Kree geneticist Minn-Erva, opposite Brie Larson.

The highly-anticipated movie is one of the most diverse films to date. Besides Chan, the cast includes Kumail Nanjiani, Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, and Richard Madden.
