The most extreme physical transformations of Christian Bale

A few weeks ago the amazement physical change of the american actor Ethan Suplee (44 years old), known for his roles in ‘American History X’ and in the series ‘My name Is Earl’, thanks to diets and physical exercise he has been able to lose a whopping 113 kilos.

But if we talk about physical transformations, the best known actor in this section is undoubtedly Christian Bale, an artist who began to emerge in the film industry as a result of his role in ‘The Empire of the Sun’ (1987), a film directed by the acclaimed director Steven Spielberg.

The 47-year-old British performer has transformed his body numerous times to play all kinds of roles. In some movies he has had to put on a lot of pounds, mostly muscle, and in others he has had to drastically lose weight to the extreme.

From here we review some of his most surprising physical transformations:

American Psycho (2000)

In this film, the British actor cultivated his muscles as he had not done before, and with a very strict exercise routine and a very defined diet he was able to gain weight quickly but with hardly adding body fat. In his diet he tended above all to the intake of protein, above that of carbohydrates.

It is perhaps the most striking transformation of Christian Bale throughout his acting career. The change was such that, he lost up to 27 kilos with a very limited diet (coffee, water, an apple and a can of tuna a day), and the actor played an insomniac with obsessive disorders.

The Fighter (2010)

In these, again, he had to lose a lot of weight again to play a boxing coach addicted to cocaine. Although he did not take his transformation to the extreme as in ‘The Machinist’, he was very thin and with a haggard face, also thanks to the power of makeup.
