Daniel Day-Lewis, 60, announced his retirement on Wednesday.

Daniel Day-Lewis surprised Hollywood in June by announcing that he was retiring from acting.

The latest movie starring him will be released later this year, Phantom Thread, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and based on the London fashion industry in the 1950s.

The 60-year-old Briton said that when he finished promoting the film, “he will no longer work as an actor.”

Perhaps in the future some film project will be able to tempt him and he will shine again in front of the cameras, as he did in My Left Foot (1989), There Will Be Blood (2007) and Lincoln (2012), films for which he obtained a record of 3 Oscars for Best Leading Actor.
