Colin Firth, a man with a lot of class

The glamorous actor announces his divorce from Livia Giuggioli.

Colin was born on September 10, 1960 in Grayshott, England. As a child he lived a long time with his missionary grandparents from the Methodist Church in Nigeria, in his school years Colin became completely interested in the world of acting and began studying at the Drama Center in Chalk Farm and shortly after he made his theater debut Londoner from the West End.

He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Winchester in 2007 and is also a member of Oxfam International, an organization dedicated to ending poverty and injustice around the world and is co-director of the Oxfam Café program, a chain of coffee shops founded with the intention of creating fair trade opportunities for coffee cooperatives in Ethiopia, Honduras and Indonesia.

Fight for the rights of those most in need

The actor has been concerned about social welfare and has campaigned for the rights of indigenous peoples, as well as the campaign of the NGO “Survival International” to save the indigenous Awá of Brazil. He has also campaigned to help those in need of asylum, refugee rights and the environment.

Firth was the boyfriend of MegTilly whom he met during the filming of the movie ‘Valmont’, with which he had a son named William. He also had a romantic relationship with actress Jennifer Ehle, his co-star in the film ‘Pride and Prejudice’. In 1997 he married the Italian Livia Giuggioli, with whom he has had two children named Luca and Matteo, with whom he shared his life for 22 years. But the couple announced their divorce in 2019, staying on good terms for the sake of their children.
