DC Films already has several projects planned for the next few years, and one of those is the film Batgirl, which will star Leslie Grace, and everything seems to indicate that actor JK Simmons will also join the cast.
According to information obtained by The Hollywood ReporterOscar-winning actor JK Simmons is in talks with DC and Warner Bros. to reprise his role as commissioner James Gordon for the future film of Batgirl.
Simmons already played this character in Justice League from 2017, and again in the Zack Snyder version released this year. Many fans thought that we would not see this version of the commissioner again because it is completely related to the universe created by Snyder, which will not have continuity in future DC films.

Fortunately, this new information gives us hope to see the iconic JK Simmons again as James Gordon. For now, we can only see the version of actor Jeffrey Wright in the next film The Batmanstarring Robert Pattinson which will be released the following year.
The Batgirl film does not have a release date yet, since the pre-production process will just begin, however, we know that it will premiere exclusively on HBO Max.
JK Simmons would be involved in both DC and Marvel
If this information is true, it would confirm to us that Simmons works for both DC Films and Marvel Studios. In case you don’t remember, the actor plays J. Jonah Jameson, leader of the newspaper The clarin which Peter Parker works on.
Simmons played this role in the trilogy of Spider-Man directed by Sam Raimi, and we saw him again in the post-credits scene of Spider-Man Far From Home, in addition to the fact that its appearance in Spider-Man No Way Home.
